Plans are not split by feature. Everything works on the free plan — the only difference is how many assignments you can create in a month.
The count runs on a cycle anchored to your sign-up date, not the calendar month. What is left this cycle and when it resets are shown in Settings → "Plan & billing".
The figure shown is the total you pay. Payment by credit card (processor: Stripe).
These apply on every plan. They exist to stop the handful of usage patterns whose cost runs away, and normal preparation does not meet them.
| What | Limit | How it is counted |
|---|---|---|
| Upload size | 30 MB | Total per submission, not per file |
| Volume per document | 100,000 characters | Of extracted text, not file size |
| Volume per assignment | 300,000 characters | As above |
| Draft translations | 5 per assignment / 30 a month | Deleting one frees the assignment slot |
| Document summaries | 3 per assignment | As above |
| Background briefs | 3 per assignment | As above |
| Regenerations | 5 per assignment | — |
| "Ask the AI" | 30 per assignment | — |
| Term import | 10,000 rows per file / 500 AI completions | Rows that already have a rendering and a description need no completion and are not counted |
If a file is too large, use the shrink-before-upload feature: it removes videos and scales images down inside your browser, and does not change what is generated.
It applies the first time you subscribe to Basic. A card is required at sign-up, but cancelling during the trial means you are not charged. The first charge falls on the last day of the trial, and it renews monthly from there.
Two cases do not qualify, and the checkout screen tells you which applies:
You can invite colleagues from Settings. When one of them moves to a paid plan, one of your months becomes half price (¥990) and their first month is half price too. There is no limit on how many.
A higher tier (Premium) is under consideration: speech and video transcription (ASR), larger file limits and priority processing. Its contents, price and date are all undecided; they will be posted here once they are settled. A plan for agencies, sharing glossaries within an organisation, is also being considered.
Yes. Plans are not split by feature. A trial that ends without the real value ever being seen is not a trial.
You cannot create new ones. Existing assignments and your glossary library stay fully readable, searchable, editable and exportable. The reset date is shown in Settings.
No. What is counted is how many you created in the cycle, not how many you keep (there is no limit on keeping them). Archiving behaves the same way.
Monthly only at present. Annual billing is under consideration.
You can download them yourself. Settings → "Plan & billing" → "Manage payment" lists every past charge with its invoice and receipt as PDFs. A receipt is also emailed to you on each payment.
To change the name they are addressed to, use the billing details on the same screen — a trading name or company name, if that is what you file expenses under. It applies to documents issued after the change (for one already issued, contact us).
No. TerpPrep is run by a tax-exempt sole proprietor who is not registered as a qualified invoice issuer. Invoices and receipts are available from "Manage payment", but they are not qualified invoices (see the Japanese commercial transactions notice).
Credit card only (processor: Stripe). TerpPrep does not hold your card details.
